Fabulous House in a great location. Our weather was a bit mixed but we saw plenty of stunning beaches and even encounted the Wild Eriskay Ponies.
David and Helen 18th – 25th October 2025, Yorkshire.
Such a lovely cottage with AMAZING views. We saw Corncrakes in the field just next to the garden! We really enjoyed our stay here despite the unseasonably weather. Recommend Steven Duffield wildlife tours, we saw an Otter, 2 Golden, 2 White Tailed and various other wildlife. Westward inn is good for evening meal and Kikibost Cafe is good for soup and sandwich.

Weather variable, scenery stunning, Beach walking exhilarating, Seafood amazing (Namara and Westford Inn). We love it here. By no means our first visit to the isles – that was 1995 with an A Frame tent on the Machair – but certainly the most comfortable.
Brian and Ruth 15th – 22nd June 2024, Perthshire.
I was here on buisness and so very much appreciated having such a clean and very comfortable place to stay. I love all the homely touches and Mark was very easy to message. Sadly didn’t meet Mark or May but they made sure everything was wonderful! Thank you so much.

A wonderful holiday in a wonderful house. We had a week of rain and fog then a week of hot and sunny so we saw this special place in all it gives. In the sun however the beaches here have no match and are breathtaking in their beauty. We enjoyed good food at a variety of eateries and saw a magnificent Stag at Lang’s Lodge. A fantastic house that is modern and comfortable. Thank you Mark and May, we will return.
Paul, Shona, Eilidh and Chris 4th July – 18th July 2026
Once again Mark and May, Thank you for sharing your lovely house. Also Mary as always the house was immaculate. We have been luck enough to see the Hen Harriers (male and female) also Short Eared Owl from the house daily. Mark got some great photos. We have also had great walks around the bay where we have seen Artic Skewers. Hers to next year, we can’t wait.

Lovely to return to Tranquil Sands. Compare it to other holiday cottages and you know Mark and May enjoy it here, it has so many touches that show they have lived here. Enjoyed visits to Hosta Beach & Bernard & Lang’s Wood, lots of fairy house! Weather has been windy but mainly dry which has been good for walking. We enjoyed a walk through Croft no8 at Arinaban, North Locheyenort. There were lots of Seals lounging on the rocks. Ate at Kildonan Museum, Westward Inn and Lochmaddy Hotel, all lovely. Sad Claddach Kirkibost Cafe isn’t offering lunches. Storm Kathleen is making us leave early – Boo!
